أعلن النادي الأهلي تعاقده رسميًا مع المدرب الهولندي مارينو بوسيتش لقيادة الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بعقد يمتد لموسمين حتى صيف عام 2028، ليبدأ مرحلة جديدة مع بطل آسيا لمرتين متتاليتين، وسط تطلعات لمواصلة المنافسة على البطولات المحلية والقارية.
ويصل بوسيتش إلى جدة وهو يحمل سجلًا تدريبيًا مميزًا، بعدما حقق خمسة ألقاب خلال مسيرته، أبرزها التتويج بلقب الدوري الهولندي مع فينورد ضمن الجهاز الفني بقيادة آرني سلوت، وقيادة شاختار دونيتسك للفوز بالدوري الأوكراني مرة واحدة، إلى جانب إحراز كأس أوكرانيا في مناسبتين، كما سبق له قيادة تفينتي للتتويج بلقب دوري الدرجة الثانية الهولندي والصعود إلى دوري الأضواء.
وتضم السيرة الفنية للمدرب الهولندي محطات بارزة، إذ عمل مساعدًا للمدرب آرني سلوت في ألكمار، قبل أن يواصل المهمة معه في فينورد، حيث أسهم في تحقيق لقب الدوري الهولندي والوصول إلى نهائي إحدى البطولات الأوروبية، قبل أن يبدأ مسيرته كمدير فني مع تفينتي خلال موسم 2018-2019.
وفي أكتوبر 2023 تولى تدريب شاختار دونيتسك الأوكراني، وقاد الفريق في 71 مباراة، حقق خلالها 45 انتصارًا مقابل 12 تعادلًا و14 خسارة، وتوج خلالها بلقب الدوري الأوكراني وكأس أوكرانيا مرتين، كما قاد الفريق للمشاركة في دوري أبطال أوروبا وحقق نتائج لافتة أمام كبار القارة.
وكانت آخر محطات بوسيتش التدريبية مع الجزيرة الإماراتي خلال موسم 2025-2026، إذ أشرف على الفريق في 30 مباراة، حقق خلالها 15 فوزًا و6 تعادلات مقابل 9 هزائم، قبل أن ينهي رحلته في الدوري الإماراتي ويتجه لخوض أولى تجاربه في الكرة السعودية مع الأهلي.
وتعوّل إدارة الأهلي على خبرة بوسيتش الأوروبية والخليجية لقيادة الفريق في موسم مزدحم بالاستحقاقات، يتقدمها المنافسة على دوري روشن السعودي، وكأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين، ودوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة، إلى جانب كأس القارات، في إطار مشروع يستهدف الحفاظ على مكانة الأهلي بين كبار القارة الآسيوية.
The Al Ahly Club officially announced its contract with Dutch coach Marino Pusic to lead the first football team with a contract extending for two seasons until the summer of 2028, beginning a new phase with the two-time Asian champion, amidst aspirations to continue competing for local and continental titles.
Pusic arrives in Jeddah with an impressive coaching record, having achieved five titles during his career, most notably winning the Dutch league title with Feyenoord as part of the coaching staff led by Arne Slot, and leading Shakhtar Donetsk to win the Ukrainian league once, in addition to winning the Ukrainian Cup twice. He also previously led Twente to win the Dutch second division title and promotion to the top league.
The Dutch coach’s career includes notable milestones, having worked as an assistant to coach Arne Slot at Alkmaar, before continuing the task with him at Feyenoord, where he contributed to winning the Dutch league title and reaching the final of a European competition, before starting his career as a head coach with Twente during the 2018-2019 season.
In October 2023, he took over the coaching of Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, leading the team in 71 matches, achieving 45 victories, 12 draws, and 14 losses, during which he won the Ukrainian league title and the Ukrainian Cup twice, and led the team to participate in the UEFA Champions League, achieving notable results against the continent’s top teams.
Pusic’s last coaching stint was with Al Jazira in the UAE during the 2025-2026 season, where he oversaw the team in 30 matches, achieving 15 wins, 6 draws, and 9 losses, before concluding his journey in the UAE league and heading to his first experience in Saudi football with Al Ahly.
The Al Ahly management relies on Pusic’s European and Gulf experience to lead the team in a busy season filled with challenges, including competing for the Roshan Saudi League, the King’s Cup, the AFC Champions League, and the Confederations Cup, as part of a project aimed at maintaining Al Ahly’s status among the giants of the Asian continent.
