أنهى مجلس إدارة شركة نادي الهلال برئاسة الأمير نواف بن سعد إجراءات توقيع عقد انتقال المهاجم الإنجليزي أولي واتكينز، قادمًا من نادي «أستون فيلا» الإنجليزي، ليمثّل فريق الهلال الأول لكرة القدم لمدة 3 أعوام، حيث جرت مراسم التوقيع مساء اليوم (الأحد) في «مركز الماجدية الرياضي».
وثمّن مجلس إدارة شركة نادي الهلال تكفّل الأمير الوليد بن طلال بصفقة انتقال أولي واتكينز إلى صفوف الهلال، مقدّمًا خالص الشكر والتقدير له على دعمه المستمر للنادي، وإسهاماته المتواصلة في دعم مسيرته، وتعزيز قدراته التنافسية، وتحقيق تطلعات جماهيره.
يُذكر أن واتكينز، البالغ من العمر 30 عامًا، بدأ مسيرته الاحترافية مع فريق إكستر سيتي، ثم انتقل إلى برينتفورد، الذي مثّله حتى عام 2020، وشهدت تجربته مع الفريق تتويجه بجائزة أفضل لاعب في دوري الدرجة الأولى الإنجليزي، لينتقل في العام ذاته إلى صفوف «أستون فيلا».
وخلال مسيرته مع «أستون فيلا» شارك واتكينز في المنافسات المحلية والأوروبية، وأسهم في تتويج فريقه بلقب الدوري الأوروبي موسم 2025/2026، محققًا أول ألقابه في مسيرته الاحترافية.
وعلى الصعيد الدولي، بدأ واتكينز مشواره مع المنتخب الإنجليزي الأول عام 2021، وشارك معه في العديد من المناسبات، أبرزها كأس أمم أوروبا 2024، وكأس العالم 2026، وخاض بقميص المنتخب الإنجليزي 24 مباراة دولية، أحرز خلالها 7 أهداف.
وينتظر أن ينتظم واتكينز في تدريبات فريق الهلال الأول لكرة القدم مساء اليوم؛ استعدادًا لمواجهة ضيفه الأهلي الثلاثاء القادم، ضمن منافسات دوري روشن السعودي.
The Board of Directors of Al Hilal Club, chaired by Prince Nawaf bin Saad, has completed the procedures for signing the transfer contract of English striker Ollie Watkins, coming from English club Aston Villa, to represent Al Hilal’s first football team for a duration of 3 years. The signing ceremony took place this evening (Sunday) at the “Majdiah Sports Center”.
The Board of Directors of Al Hilal Club expressed their appreciation for Prince Alwaleed bin Talal’s sponsorship of Ollie Watkins’ transfer to Al Hilal, offering their sincere thanks and gratitude for his continuous support of the club, his ongoing contributions to its progress, enhancing its competitive capabilities, and fulfilling the aspirations of its fans.
It is worth mentioning that Watkins, who is 30 years old, began his professional career with Exeter City, then moved to Brentford, where he played until 2020. During his time with the team, he was awarded the Best Player in the English Football League, before transferring to Aston Villa in the same year.
During his career with Aston Villa, Watkins participated in local and European competitions, contributing to his team’s victory in the UEFA Europa League in the 2025/2026 season, achieving his first title in his professional career.
On the international level, Watkins began his journey with the England national team in 2021, participating in several events, most notably the UEFA Euro 2024 and the FIFA World Cup 2026. He has played 24 international matches for the England national team, scoring 7 goals.
Watkins is expected to join the training sessions of Al Hilal’s first football team this evening in preparation for facing his guest Al Ahli next Tuesday, as part of the Roshan Saudi League competitions.
