وجرى خلال الاتصالين بحث التطورات في المنطقة، وإدانة واستنكار الاعتداء الإرهابي الذي نفذته مليشيا الحوثي واستهدف المنطقة الجنوبية في المملكة العربية السعودية، إضافة إلى التأكيد على أهمية الحفاظ على أمن وحريـة الملاحة البحرية في الخليج العربي والبحر الأحمر، ورفض أي أعمال أو ممارسات من شأنها تهديد أمن الملاحة وسلامتها فيهما.
