أشاد المدير الفني لفريق الأهلي السعودي مارينو بوسيتش بالأداء الذي قدمه فريقه أمام أوكلاند سيتي النيوزيلندي، ضمن منافسات الدور الأول من بطولة كأس القارات للأندية 2026 «إنتركونتيننتال»، في اللقاء الذي أُقيم على ملعب مدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية بجدة.
جاء ذلك خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الذي أعقب المواجهة التي حجز من خلالها الأهلي مقعده في نهائي كأس القارات الثلاث (أفريقيا وآسيا والمحيط الهادئ)، بعد فوزه بهدف دون رد، ليضرب موعدًا مع ماميلودي صن داونز الجنوب أفريقي يوم 19 سبتمبر القادم.
وأوضح بوسيتش أن فريقه واجه منافسًا قويًا فرض تحديات مختلفة خلال مجريات المباراة، مبينًا أن الروح الجماعية والجهد الكبير من اللاعبين أسهما في تحقيق الفوز، إلى جانب الدور المهم الذي قام به الحارس إدوارد ميندي في بعض اللحظات الحاسمة، مؤكدًا تميز الفريق بصفته منظومة متكاملة.
وأكد أن العمل الفني الذي نفذه الجهاز التدريبي بدأ ينعكس تدريجيًا على أداء اللاعبين، من خلال التأقلم مع الأفكار والأساليب الفنية الجديدة، معربًا عن رضاه عما قدمه اللاعبون وتنفيذهم للتعليمات المطلوبة داخل الملعب.
من جانبه، أكد المدير الفني لفريق أوكلاند سيتي بيدرو موريرا، أن الأهلي يمتلك قدرات مميزة في استغلال الهجمات المرتدة والمساحات، الأمر الذي دفع فريقه إلى العمل على تضييق المساحات والحد من خطورة لاعبيه خلال التحضيرات للمباراة.
وأوضح أن فريقه سعى للعودة إلى أجواء المباراة وتسجيل هدف التعادل، إلا أن المحاولات لم تُكلل بالنجاح، معربًا عن فخره بما قدمه اللاعبون أمام فريق كبير ووسط حضور جماهيري مميز.
The head coach of the Saudi Al-Ahli team, Marino Pusic, praised the performance of his team against New Zealand’s Auckland City, in the first round of the 2026 Intercontinental Club World Cup, during the match held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
This came during the press conference that followed the match, in which Al-Ahli secured its place in the final of the three continental cups (Africa, Asia, and the Pacific), after winning by a goal to nil, setting up a meeting with South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on September 19.
Pusic explained that his team faced a strong opponent that posed different challenges throughout the match, noting that the collective spirit and the great effort from the players contributed to achieving the victory, alongside the important role played by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in some crucial moments, emphasizing the team’s distinction as a complete system.
He confirmed that the technical work implemented by the coaching staff is gradually reflecting on the players’ performance, through their adaptation to the new ideas and technical methods, expressing his satisfaction with what the players delivered and their execution of the required instructions on the field.
For his part, Auckland City head coach Pedro Moriera stated that Al-Ahli possesses exceptional abilities in exploiting counter-attacks and spaces, which prompted his team to work on narrowing the spaces and reducing the danger posed by their players during the preparations for the match.
He explained that his team sought to return to the match atmosphere and score the equalizer, but the attempts were unsuccessful, expressing pride in what the players showcased against a great team in front of a distinguished audience.
