بين حلم رفع العلم المصري على منصات التتويج، وهاجس تأمين مستقبل أسرته، وجد المصارع المصري محمد مصطفى الشامي نفسه أمام قرار صعب انتهى بمغادرته بعثة منتخب بلاده في الخارج، قبل أن يخرج عن صمته ويكشف، من وجهة نظره، الأسباب التي دفعته إلى هذه الخطوة، في وقت تحولت الواقعة إلى أزمة رياضية وأُحيلت إلى النيابة العامة للتحقيق.
فتح الشامي، لاعب منتخب مصر للمصارعة الحرة، قلبه في رسالة عبر حسابه على «فيسبوك»، قدم خلالها اعتذاره إلى والده وأسرته وكل من سانده طوال مسيرته، مؤكداً أن المصارعة لم تكن مجرد رياضة بالنسبة إليه، وإنما حلم بدأ معه منذ طفولته.
من السابعة إلى منتخب مصر
قال الشامي إنه بدأ ممارسة المصارعة عندما كان في السابعة من عمره، وظل يحلم برفع علم مصر وتحقيق إنجاز يظل حاضراً في ذاكرة الجماهير، مشيراً إلى أنه نجح بالفعل في حصد عدد من البطولات الأفريقية والدولية.
وأكد أن طموحه الأكبر كان الوصول إلى دورة الألعاب الأولمبية والتتويج بميدالية، إلا أن الظروف التي مر بها دفعته إلى إعادة التفكير في مستقبله الرياضي والشخصي.
وأوضح أن الضغوط المادية كانت من أبرز الأسباب التي قادته إلى اتخاذ قرار مغادرة البعثة، خاصة أنه الابن الأكبر في أسرته، وأصبح يشعر بأن والده يتحمل أعباء معيشية متزايدة.
قال الشامي إن الدعم الذي يحصل عليه كلاعب منتخب لم يكن، بحسب روايته، كافياً لتوفير حياة كريمة أو تأمين مستقبله في حال تعرضه لإصابة تنهي مسيرته الرياضية.
ضرب مثالاً بمستقبله قائلاً إن الاستمرار 15 عاماً أخرى في الظروف نفسها لن يمكنه حتى من شراء شقة للزواج، مضيفاً أن هاجس الإصابة أو الاعتزال كان حاضراً بقوة، في ظل عدم وجود ضمان واضح لما سيحدث له بعد توقفه عن اللعب.
«الحلم لم ينته»
ورغم مغادرته البعثة، شدد المصارع المصري على أن قراره لا يعني التخلي عن المصارعة أو عن حلم تمثيل بلاده.
وأكد أن حلمه الأول ما زال قائماً، وأن الطريق ربما تغير أو تأجل، لكنه يأمل العودة إلى المنافسات مستقبلاً واستكمال مشواره ورفع علم مصر مجدداً وتحقيق حلمه الأولمبي.
كما وجه اعتذاراً خاصاً إلى والده وأسرته، وإلى كل من دعمه خلال السنوات الماضية، مؤكداً أنه لن ينسى مساندة من وقف إلى جواره.
وزارة الرياضة تحيل الواقعة للنيابة
وفي المقابل، تعاملت وزارة الشباب والرياضة المصرية مع الواقعة باعتبارها ملفاً إدارياً وقانونياً يستوجب التحقيق، خصوصاً أنها جاءت بعد واقعة أخرى مشابهة خلال فترة قصيرة، تتعلق بالمصارع الشاب زياد حجاج الذي غادر بعثة المنتخب المصري خلال مشاركته في بطولة العالم للشباب في سلوفاكيا.
أعلنت الوزارة إحالة واقعتي مغادرة اللاعبين للبعثتين إلى النيابة العامة، بهدف التحقيق وتحديد المسؤوليات والوقوف على أسباب الخلل الإداري.
قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الشباب والرياضة، محمد الشاذلي، إن الوزارة تواصلت مع الاتحاد المصري للمصارعة واللجنة الأولمبية المصرية، وحصلت على تقارير مبدئية، كما طلبت تقارير تفصيلية بشأن ملابسات الواقعتين.
الجوازات تثير تساؤلات
ومن بين النقاط التي تخضع للفحص الإجراءات الخاصة بسفر البعثات الرياضية، إذ أوضح المتحدث باسم الوزارة أن القواعد المنظمة تقضي باحتفاظ رئيس البعثة أو الإداريين بجوازات سفر اللاعبين وإنهاء إجراءات السفر والعودة.
إلا أن اللاعبين تمكنا من مغادرة البعثتين وهما يحملان جوازي سفرهما؛ إذ غادر زياد حجاج فندق الإقامة في سلوفاكيا، بينما غادر محمد مصطفى الشامي البعثة خلال فترة الترانزيت في مطار روما أثناء رحلة العودة إلى القاهرة.
أثار ذلك تساؤلات حول مدى الالتزام بالإجراءات الإدارية المعمول بها في البعثات الرياضية المصرية بالخارج.
الدعم الرياضي في مواجهة الأزمة
وفيما يتعلق بما أثاره الشامي حول الأوضاع المادية للاعبي الألعاب الفردية، أشارت الوزارة إلى آليات الدعم التي تقدمها للرياضيين، من بينها لائحة التكريم والرعاية، إلى جانب المشروع القومي للموهبة والبطل الأولمبي.
وبحسب الوزارة، يضم المشروع نحو 4200 لاعب، ويوفر لهم برامج تشمل التدريب والمعسكرات والتأهيل والإقامة والإعاشة والسفر، إلى جانب المعسكرات التعليمية والتدريبية.
أكدت الوزارة أن الشامي وزياد حجاج من أبناء المشروع، مشيرة كذلك إلى صرف مكافآت للأبطال وفق اللوائح المنظمة، مع إمكانية تقديم مكافآت استثنائية في بعض الحالات.
Between the dream of raising the Egyptian flag on the podiums of victory and the anxiety of securing his family’s future, Egyptian wrestler Mohamed Mostafa Al-Shami found himself faced with a difficult decision that ended with his departure from his country’s national team abroad. He then broke his silence to reveal, from his perspective, the reasons that led him to this step, at a time when the incident turned into a sports crisis and was referred to the public prosecutor for investigation.
Al-Shami, a player on the Egyptian national wrestling team, opened his heart in a message via his Facebook account, in which he apologized to his father, family, and everyone who supported him throughout his career, affirming that wrestling was not just a sport for him, but a dream that began with him since childhood.
From Age Seven to the Egyptian National Team
Al-Shami stated that he began practicing wrestling when he was seven years old, and he dreamed of raising the Egyptian flag and achieving an accomplishment that would remain in the memories of the fans, noting that he indeed succeeded in winning several African and international championships.
He confirmed that his biggest ambition was to reach the Olympic Games and win a medal, but the circumstances he went through led him to rethink his athletic and personal future.
He explained that financial pressures were among the main reasons that led him to decide to leave the delegation, especially since he is the eldest son in his family and began to feel that his father was bearing increasing living burdens.
Al-Shami stated that the support he received as a national team player was, according to his account, insufficient to provide a decent life or secure his future in case of an injury that could end his athletic career.
He gave an example regarding his future, saying that continuing for another 15 years under the same conditions would not even allow him to buy an apartment for marriage, adding that the anxiety of injury or retirement was strongly present, especially in the absence of a clear guarantee of what would happen to him after he stopped playing.
“The Dream Is Not Over”
Despite leaving the delegation, the Egyptian wrestler emphasized that his decision does not mean abandoning wrestling or his dream of representing his country.
He confirmed that his primary dream still exists, and while the path may have changed or been delayed, he hopes to return to competitions in the future, complete his journey, raise the Egyptian flag again, and achieve his Olympic dream.
He also extended a special apology to his father and family, and to everyone who supported him over the past years, affirming that he would not forget the support of those who stood by him.
The Ministry of Sports Refers the Incident to the Prosecutor
In turn, the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports treated the incident as an administrative and legal file that requires investigation, especially since it came after another similar incident within a short period, involving young wrestler Ziad Haggag, who left the Egyptian national team during his participation in the World Youth Championship in Slovakia.
The ministry announced the referral of the incidents of the players leaving their delegations to the public prosecutor, with the aim of investigating and determining responsibilities and understanding the reasons for the administrative failure.
Mohamed El-Shazly, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stated that the ministry contacted the Egyptian Wrestling Federation and the Egyptian Olympic Committee, obtained preliminary reports, and requested detailed reports regarding the circumstances of the two incidents.
Passports Raise Questions
Among the points under examination are the procedures related to the travel of sports delegations, as the ministry’s spokesperson clarified that the regulations stipulate that the head of the delegation or the administrators retain the players’ passports and complete the travel and return procedures.
However, the players managed to leave their delegations while carrying their passports; Ziad Haggag left the accommodation hotel in Slovakia, while Mohamed Mostafa Al-Shami left the delegation during the transit period at Rome airport on the return trip to Cairo.
This raised questions about the extent of adherence to the administrative procedures in place for Egyptian sports delegations abroad.
Sports Support in Facing the Crisis
Regarding what Al-Shami raised about the financial conditions of individual sport athletes, the ministry pointed to the support mechanisms it provides to athletes, including the honor and sponsorship regulations, in addition to the national project for talent and Olympic champions.
According to the ministry, the project includes about 4,200 athletes, providing them with programs that include training, camps, rehabilitation, accommodation, living expenses, and travel, in addition to educational and training camps.
The ministry confirmed that Al-Shami and Ziad Haggag are beneficiaries of the project, also noting that bonuses are awarded to champions according to the governing regulations, with the possibility of providing exceptional bonuses in certain cases.
