زار الدكتور ماجد القصبي مشروع ملعب وسط جدة، واطّلع على سير الأعمال الإنشائية ومراحل تنفيذ المشروع، الذي يُعد أحد الملاعب المستضيفة لبطولة كأس العالم 2034.
وكان في استقباله رئيس الإدارة العامة للاستثمارات العقارية المحلية في صندوق الاستثمارات العامة سعد الكرود، والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة وسط جدة للتطوير المهندس أحمد السليم، إلى جانب أعضاء الإدارة التنفيذية للشركة.
واستمع القصبي خلال الزيارة إلى شرح عن مراحل تنفيذ المشروع والأعمال الإنشائية، التي بلغت نسبة الإنجاز فيها 35%، إضافة إلى أبرز المميزات الهندسية والتقنيات التي يتضمنها الملعب ومرافقه المختلفة، إذ تبلغ طاقته الاستيعابية 45 ألف متفرج، ويتميز بتصميمه المستوحى من العمارة الفريدة لمنطقة جدة التاريخية «البلد»، بما يجسد الهوية العمرانية والثقافية لمدينة جدة.
ويحتوي الملعب على سقف متحرك يتيح تغطيته، إلى جانب أنظمة تبريد تشمل أرضية الملعب والمدرجات والطرقات المحيطة به، بما يسهم في توفير تجربة متكاملة للرياضيين والجماهير والزوار.
وتحيط بالملعب أربع قرى متكاملة، هي قرية المشجعين، وقرية الصحة والتعليم، وقرية الأنشطة والترفيه، والقرية التجارية، بما يعزز تكامل مرافق المشروع والخدمات المصاحبة له، ويوفر وجهة رياضية وترفيهية متكاملة.
ويمثل المشروع أحد المكونات الرئيسة ضمن استعدادات المملكة لاستضافة بطولة كأس العالم 2034، بما يسهم في تطوير البنية التحتية الرياضية، وتعزيز جاهزية مدينة جدة لاستضافة الفعاليات الرياضية العالمية، وتقديم تجربة نوعية للجماهير والزوار.
Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi visited the project of the stadium in downtown Jeddah and reviewed the progress of the construction works and the stages of the project’s implementation, which is one of the stadiums hosting the 2034 World Cup.
He was welcomed by Saad Al-Karoud, the head of the General Administration of Local Real Estate Investments at the Public Investment Fund, and Ahmed Al-Saleem, the CEO of Jeddah Downtown Development Company, along with members of the company’s executive management.
During the visit, Al-Qasabi listened to an explanation about the stages of project implementation and the construction works, which have reached a completion rate of 35%. He also learned about the main engineering features and technologies included in the stadium and its various facilities, which has a capacity of 45,000 spectators. The design is inspired by the unique architecture of the historical area of Jeddah, known as “Al-Balad,” reflecting the urban and cultural identity of the city.
The stadium features a retractable roof that allows for coverage, in addition to cooling systems that include the playing field, the stands, and the surrounding pathways, contributing to a comprehensive experience for athletes, fans, and visitors.
Surrounding the stadium are four integrated villages: the Fan Village, the Health and Education Village, the Activities and Entertainment Village, and the Commercial Village, enhancing the integration of the project’s facilities and accompanying services, and providing a comprehensive sports and entertainment destination.
The project represents one of the key components in the Kingdom’s preparations to host the 2034 World Cup, contributing to the development of sports infrastructure, enhancing the readiness of the city of Jeddah to host global sporting events, and providing a quality experience for fans and visitors.
