وأوضح المركز الوطني للأعاصير، أن مركز الإعصار يقع على بعد نحو 715 كيلومترًا جنوب مدينة هيلو في هاواي، ويتحرك غربًا بسرعة 17 كيلومترًا في الساعة، فيما بلغت سرعة الرياح المصاحبة له نحو 260 كيلومترًا في الساعة.
وأشار المركز إلى أن الأمواج العاتية الناجمة عن الإعصار يُرجح أن تؤثر على أجزاء من جزر هاواي.
