اختارت اللجنة الأولمبية الألمانية اليوم ملف مدينة ميونيخ جنوب البلاد للتقدم في المنافسة على استضافة دورتي الألعاب الأولمبية والبارالمبية في أعوام 2036 أو 2040 أو 2044، على أن تحسم اللجنة الأولمبية الدولية قرار الاستضافة لاحقاً.
وجاء اختيار ملف مدينة ميونيخ خلال جمعية عمومية استثنائية في مدينة بادن بادن، متفوقاً على ملف منطقة كولونيا–الراين–الرور.
وأعلن الرئيس الألماني فرانك-فالتر شتاينماير دعمه لترشح مدينة ميونيخ، معرباً عن أمله في أن تستضيف بلاده الألعاب الأولمبية والبارالمبية، لتعيش نجاحات كبيرة، ولحظات لا تُنسى.
ويأتي تقدم ميونيخ بملفها بعد محاولتين فاشلتين لاستضافة دورة الألعاب الأولمبية الشتوية عامي 2018 و2022، فيما تخوض ألمانيا بهذا الملف محاولتها الثامنة للتقدم بملف أولمبي منذ عام 1972، عندما استضافت ميونيخ دورة الألعاب الأولمبية الصيفية.
The German Olympic Committee today selected the bid from the city of Munich in the south of the country to advance in the competition to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036, 2040, or 2044, with the International Olympic Committee set to make the final decision on hosting later.
The selection of Munich’s bid came during an extraordinary general assembly in the city of Baden-Baden, surpassing the bid from the Cologne-Rhine-Ruhr region.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced his support for Munich’s candidacy, expressing hope that his country would host the Olympic and Paralympic Games, experiencing great successes and unforgettable moments.
Munich’s advancement with its bid follows two unsuccessful attempts to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2018 and 2022, while Germany is making its eighth attempt to submit an Olympic bid since 1972, when Munich hosted the Summer Olympic Games.
