This comes as an extension of the success of the seed sowing initiative, and stems from the center’s role in developing vegetation cover, promoting the optimal use of natural resources, and providing sustainable alternatives that contribute to achieving the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative.

The center urged farm owners to take advantage of the initiative by applying for the service through the “Nabati” platform. It explained that sowing seeds on private farms presents a strategic opportunity to produce native grazing plants suited to the site's characteristics, thus contributing to transforming them into productive ecosystems capable of supporting environmental and economic development.
clarified that the initiative includes planting native shrubs and herbs with multiple economic uses, whether as a source of fodder or for medicinal purposes. This enhances land use efficiency and increases the farmer's developmental return.
The center emphasized that developing this category of land within the comprehensive strategic plan contributes to achieving national afforestation targets, thereby strengthening the initiative's impact across the Kingdom and supporting food security efforts.

Vegetation cover development

He noted that the “Sowing Seeds on Private Farms” initiative will be implemented in the Hail region as a first phase. The center will then evaluate the experience at the end of the season from both technical and environmental perspectives, paving the way for its expansion to other regions. This aims to achieve integration between the goals of vegetation development, food security, and Saudi Vision 2030.
It is worth mentioning that the center works to develop, protect, and monitor vegetation sites, rehabilitate degraded areas across the Kingdom, detect encroachments on these sites, and combat logging.
In addition, it oversees and manages rangelands, forests, and national parks, thus promoting sustainable development and contributing to the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative.
