
14,000 personnel mobilized in Mecca to serve pilgrims and visitors
The plan included strengthening cleaning operations andEnvironmental sanitation Monitoring markets and various municipal services, by harnessing all human and mechanical capabilities to ensure the provision of the best services to those visiting the Holy Mosque.
Specialized field teams
The Municipality announced that it has allocated 13,549 workers for cleaning operations in Makkah during the holy month, supported by more than 912 pieces of modern equipment and machinery. In addition, specialized field teams will carry out manual and mechanical sweeping in the central area around the Grand Mosque, main streets, parking areas at the entrances to Makkah, and public squares and plazas.
The Municipality has also activated its pest control programs, employing more than 520 technicians and specialists, supported by over 396 spraying and control devices and equipped vehicles, as part of its environmental sanitation programs to maintain public health.

The Secretariat indicated that the total amount of waste that was removed since the beginning of Ramadan until yesterday exceeded (126,365) tons of waste and refuse.

Inspection tours
In the area of markets, the Municipality conducted inspection tours of seasonal markets and stalls throughout Makkah to ensure establishments' compliance with health and regulatory requirements and to monitor the legality of their employees, thus contributing to enhanced food safety and environmental health.
The Municipality of the Holy City of Makkah affirmed its continued implementation of its operational plan during the holy month of Ramadan, with integrated field efforts to serve visitors and pilgrims during the last ten days and peak periods.
