Hunting without a license
Field patrols of the Special Forces for Environmental Security in the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve arrested citizen Ghanem Ibrahim Ghanem Al-Yousef for hunting without a license. He was found in possession of two rifles (a shotgun and an air rifle), 788 rounds of various types of ammunition, and 110 captured wildlife. He was detained, legal procedures were initiated against him, and he was referred to the competent authority.
The Special Forces for Environmental Security emphasized the importance of adhering to the Environmental Law and its implementing regulations, which prohibit hunting wildlife. They confirmed that the penalty for using shotguns for hunting without a license is a fine of 100,000 riyals, the penalty for hunting without a license is a fine of 10,000 riyals, the penalty for hunting in prohibited areas is a fine of 5,000 riyals, and the penalty for hunting a European sandgrouse without a license is a fine of 2,000 riyals.
Urging reporting any cases that constitute an attack on the environment or wildlife to the number (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom, and all reports will be treated with complete confidentiality without any liability on the part of the reporter.
