Riyadh: 7 bridges to develop Othman Bin Affan Road with King Salman Road

It began Royal Commission for Riyadh City Implementing the project to develop Othman Bin Affan Road with King Salman Road, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop road network And to raise its operational efficiency, thereby enhancing the flow of traffic and improving the quality of transportation in the capital.
The authority explained that the project extends for (4.3) km, and includes the construction of seven new bridges and the improvement of road lanes; which will raise the capacity of the axis to about (500) thousand vehicles per day, and enhance the connection between the vital axes north of the city Riyadh.

Traffic flow efficiency

The project includes upgrading key intersections with King Salman Road and Anas Bin Malik Road through an integrated system of bridges ranging from two to four lanes. This will enhance connectivity between the southern and northern sections of King Salman Road, reduce travel time, and improve traffic flow in the area.
Coinciding with the start of construction, the authority implemented a temporary traffic diversion on the northern section of the road starting Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as part of a comprehensive traffic plan being implemented in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the smoothest and safest traffic flow.

Three paths

The plan includes implementing the diversion in two phases, with three main lanes in each direction, along with completing directional and warning signs, updating map applications and systems, and creating a dedicated webpage to track project progress and updates on related roads. This
project is part of the Riyadh Ring Road and Main Road Development Program, which encompasses the development and improvement of over 500 km of road network. This involves enhancing the efficiency of existing axes, creating new roads, and strengthening connectivity between them to support the development of an integrated and sustainable urban transport system and achieve the capital's quality of life goals.
