With 15 support centers, Jeddah activates its field plans to deal with expected rainfall
In response to reports from the National Center for Meteorology indicating the possibility of rainfall in the region, the Jeddah Municipality has activated its comprehensive field plans and taken the necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of residents. These plans include deploying technical teams, vehicles, and equipment to targeted locations, raising the level of preparedness to its highest degree, and maintaining direct and continuous coordination with all relevant authorities to effectively manage the approaching rainfall
Strengthening support centers
The municipality has raised its early preparedness level for the rainy season by reinforcing 15 support centers distributed across 11 sub-municipalities to ensure comprehensive and rapid geographical coverage.
Preparations included conducting regular maintenance and intensive cleaning of the stormwater drainage in various neighborhoods to ensure the smooth flow of water and the absence of any obstructions that might impede drainage during rainfall.
Readiness of technical equipment
The municipality confirmed the readiness of all pumps, heavy and light equipment, and trained personnel to ensure rapid response and immediate intervention when needed in critical locations. Field teams are operating according to a well-planned deployment strategy aimed at minimizing response times to reports and addressing water accumulations in record time to ensure the continued flow of traffic and the safety of road users.
Activating awareness messages
The municipality continues to closely monitor alerts issued by the National Center of Meteorology and the Crisis and Disaster Management Center, while also activating awareness messages through its various official channels to communicate with the public. These efforts aim to educate residents and visitors on the importance of following safety instructions during rainfall and to support the efforts of relevant authorities in the field to ensure the weather system passes without incident.
