وصرّح ترامب في مقابلة مع المذيع المحافظ غلين بيك: “كان الأمر شبه روتيني… نود أن نرى الحرب مع أوكرانيا تنتهي”، مؤكدا أن الزيارة لم تكن مرتبطة بإيران أو بالتهديدات الروسية لحلف شمال الأطلسي (ناتو).
