أعلن الاتحاد الهولندي لكرة القدم تعيين الإسباني تشافي هيرنانديز مدرباً للمنتخب الأول، خلفاً لرونالد كومان.
وقال الاتحاد الهولندي في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي، إنه عيّن تشافي هيرنانديز مدرباً جديداً للمنتخب الهولندي للرجال، بعقد يمتد حتى كأس العالم 2030.
تأثُر تشافي بالمدرسة الهولندية
من جانبه، قال تشافي عقب توليه المهمة: «إنه لشرف عظيم أن أتولى منصب المدير الفني للمنتخب الهولندي، بصفتي أحد خريجي أكاديمية نادي برشلونة، والمتأثرين بشدة بأسماء لامعة مثل يوهان كرويف ورينوس ميشيلز، أشعر بارتباط خاص بكرة القدم الهولندية، يمكن القول إنني، بطريقة ما، ابن كرة القدم الهولندية، كما لعب مدربون عظماء آخرون، ولا سيما لويس فان غال، الذي دربني لأول مرة مع برشلونة، وفرانك ريكارد، دوراً مهماً في صقل موهبتي كلاعب ومدرب».
وأضاف: «تتمتع هولندا بثقافة كروية عريقة ورؤية واضحة تجذبني بشدة: كرة قدم هجومية، تعتمد على الاستحواذ، وتتسم بالإبداع والشغف والإيمان. بالطبع، الهدف الرئيسي هو الفوز دائماً، لكنني أفضل تحقيقه بطريقة تعكس هذه الخصائص وتجعل الجماهير تستمتع بمشاهدتها، الإمكانات موجودة، إضافة إلى أساس متين للبناء عليه، أتطلع إلى بدء هذا التحدي مع اللاعبين والجهاز الفني وجميع العاملين في الاتحاد الهولندي لكرة القدم».
أول إسباني يقود هولندا
وأصبح تشافي، الذي خاض تجربتين تدريبيتين مع السد القطري وبرشلونة، أول مدرب إسباني يقود منتخب هولندا، وأول مدرب أجنبي منذ أن قاد النمساوي إرنست هابل الفريق في كأس العالم 1978.
ومن المقرر أن يستهل تشافي مشواره مع «الطواحين» بمواجهة ألمانيا في دوري الأمم الأوروبية يوم 24 سبتمبر القادم.
The Dutch Football Association announced the appointment of Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez as the head coach of the national team, succeeding Ronald Koeman.
The Dutch association stated in a statement on its official website that it has appointed Xavi Hernandez as the new head coach of the Dutch men’s national team, with a contract extending until the 2030 World Cup.
Xavi’s Influence from the Dutch School
For his part, Xavi said after taking on the role: “It is a great honor to take on the position of head coach of the Dutch national team. As a graduate of the Barcelona Academy, and heavily influenced by prominent names like Johan Cruyff and Rinus Michels, I feel a special connection to Dutch football. One could say that I am, in a way, a son of Dutch football, just as other great coaches, particularly Louis van Gaal, who first coached me at Barcelona, and Frank Rijkaard, played an important role in shaping my talent as a player and coach.”
He added: “The Netherlands has a rich football culture and a clear vision that strongly attracts me: attacking football, based on possession, characterized by creativity, passion, and belief. Of course, the main goal is always to win, but I prefer to achieve it in a way that reflects these characteristics and makes the fans enjoy watching it. The potential is there, along with a solid foundation to build upon. I look forward to starting this challenge with the players, the coaching staff, and everyone working at the Dutch Football Association.”
The First Spaniard to Lead the Netherlands
Xavi, who has had coaching experiences with Qatari club Al Sadd and Barcelona, has become the first Spanish coach to lead the Netherlands and the first foreign coach since Austrian Ernst Happel led the team in the 1978 World Cup.
Xavi is set to begin his journey with the “Oranje” against Germany in the UEFA Nations League on September 24.
