واعتبرت صحيفة «أبولا» البرتغالية هذه العبارة طعنة موجهة لغريمه كريستيانو رونالدو، مشيرة إلى أن ميسي يعلن نهاية صراع القرن لصالحه بعد إسدال الستار على رحلته الوطنية التي استمرت 21 عاماً وشهدت محطتها الأخيرة نهائي كأس العالم 2026.
