Iranian Parliament Speaker: We are not seeking a ceasefire

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the Islamic Republic is not seeking a ceasefire in the war launched by the United States and Israel on February 28.
In an English-language post on the X platform, Ghalibaf said, “We are certainly not seeking a ceasefire. The aggressor must be punished and taught a lesson that will deter them from attacking Iran again.”
He added, “The Zionist entity has consistently perpetuated a vicious and recurring cycle of war, then negotiations, then a ceasefire, then war again. We will break this cycle.”

16 Iranian ships destroyed

The US military announced it destroyed 16 mine -laying vessels near the Strait of Hormuz , following reports that Iran had mined the waterway, which has been almost entirely closed to shipping due to the conflict in the Middle East.
A post by US Central Command (CENTCOM) on its X platform stated, “On March 10, US forces destroyed several Iranian naval vessels, including 16 mine-laying vessels, near the Strait of Hormuz.”
CENTCOM included video footage showing several vessels being struck by projectiles and exploding.

Trump threatens Tehran

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that US forces had destroyed 10 Iranian mine-laying vessels and threatened Tehran with unprecedented military consequences if it targeted the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “I am pleased to announce that in the last few hours we targeted and completely destroyed 10 inactive mine-laying vessels or boats, with more on the way.”
