أعلن النجم الأرجنتيني ليونيل ميسي اعتزاله اللعب دولياً مع منتخب بلاده، بعد مسيرة أسطورية حقق خلالها العديد من الألقاب الجماعية والجوائز الفردية، أبرزها التتويج بكأس العالم 2022.
صدمتان في شهر واحد
وعانى ميسي، البالغ من العمر 39 عاماً، في الفترة الأخيرة، إذ خسر نهائي كأس العالم 2026 مع الأرجنتين أمام إسبانيا بهدف دون رد، الشهر الماضي، كما فقد والده ووكيل أعماله «خورخي».
قرار مؤلم
وقال ميسي في بيان عبر حساباته على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي: «بعد كل هذا الوقت الذي انقضى منذ المباراة النهائية، وبعد تفكير عميق، أودّ أن أعلن للجميع اعتزالي اللعب مع المنتخب الوطني، كان قراراً مؤلماً، ولا يزال يؤلمني، لكنني أدرك أنه الوقت المناسب».
وأضاف: «أقسم أنني بذلت قصارى جهدي دائماً، ليس فقط في السنوات القليلة الماضية التي فزنا فيها بكل شيء، بل قبل ذلك أيضاً، لطالما قاتلت وبذلت كل ما في وسعي من أجل هذا القميص، لأجلب لكم السعادة وأجعلكم فخورين بانتمائكم للأرجنتين من خلال كرة القدم».

وتابع أسطورة التانغو: «لم يتبقَّ الكثير من الوقت، والفصول تُطوى، وهذا الفصل يؤلمني بشدة، أحببت، وسأظل أحب، التواجد في المنتخب الوطني، لقد بذلت كل ما أملك؛ ليس لديّ المزيد لأقدمه، فضلاً عن ذلك، هناك لاعبون شباب رائعون يأتون من بعدي ويستحقون التواجد هناك».

وسيواصل ليونيل ميسي مشواره مع إنتر ميامي، إذ يرتبط أسطورة كرة القدم بعقد مع النادي الأمريكي حتى 31 ديسمبر 2028.
