The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia joins the world in celebrating World Meteorological Day 2026, which falls on March 23rd each year. This year's theme is "Monitoring Today, Protecting Tomorrow,"
emphasizing the importance of meteorological and climate monitoring in supporting human well-being and enhancing preparedness for weather phenomena and climate change.

This occasion comes in light of the qualitative development witnessed by the Kingdom in the meteorological system, through the use of modern technologies, the development of monitoring and early warning systems, and the strengthening of integration with relevant authorities, which contributes to the safety of lives, the protection of property, and the support of data-driven decision-making.
This is one of the seasonal signs associated with the beginning of the second month of spring, accompanied by climatic changes, increased plant growth, and the larger size of truffles during this period. #Today

The CEO of the National Center for Meteorology, Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, explained that the Kingdom's participation in this event reflects its leading role in developing meteorological services at both the regional and international levels.
He pointed out that investment in advanced monitoring technologies and artificial intelligence has contributed to increasing the accuracy of forecasts and enhancing the efficiency of early warnings, thus supporting public safety and resource sustainability.
