على مدى 10 أيام، تتحول ضاحية العرفاء بالطائف إلى وجهة لملاك الهجن ومحبي سباقاتها، مع انطلاق منافسات مهرجان ولي العهد للهجن في نسخته الثامنة غداً، خلال الفترة من 3 إلى 13 سبتمبر 2026، على ميدان الطائف لسباقات الهجن، بجوائز مالية تتجاوز 50 مليون ريال.
ورصدت «عكاظ» اكتمال الاستعدادات في ميدان السباقات، الذي شهد أعمال تطوير شملت الأرضيات والسياج المدعوم بالطاقة الشمسية، استعداداً لاستقبال المشاركين والجماهير.
ويشهد المهرجان 248 شوطاً لفئات الحقايق واللقايا والجذاع والثنايا والحيل والزمول، فيما خصص الاتحاد السعودي للهجن 30.4 مليون ريال لجوائز أشواط الرموز الـ24، التي تمثل أبرز منافسات المهرجان.
وتصل جائزة المركز الأول في أشواط الرموز الكبرى لفئة الحيل والزمول إلى 1.5 مليون ريال، مقابل 800 ألف للثاني، و500 ألف للثالث، و300 ألف للرابع، و150 ألفاً للخامس. وفي أشواط رموز الزمول لفئتي العام والمفتوح، يحصل الأول على مليون ريال، والثاني على 600 ألف، والثالث على 300 ألف ريال.
كما رُصد 13.4 مليون ريال للأشواط العامة، و3.3 مليون للإنتاج، و1.6 مليون للمفتوح، و1.18 مليون لأشواط الماراثون والعربية، فيما تبلغ جوائز أشواط الهجانة للرجال والسيدات 620 ألف ريال.
ويواصل المهرجان، الذي انطلقت نسخته الأولى عام 2018، تعزيز حضور رياضة الهجن ومكانتها في الموروث السعودي.
For 10 days, the Al-Urfaa neighborhood in Taif transforms into a destination for camel owners and racing enthusiasts, with the launch of the Crown Prince Camel Festival in its eighth edition tomorrow, from September 3 to 13, 2026, at the Taif Camel Racing Field, with cash prizes exceeding 50 million riyals.
“Okaz” has reported the completion of preparations at the racing field, which has undergone development works including flooring and a solar-powered fence, in readiness to welcome participants and audiences.
The festival features 248 races for the categories of Al-Haqa’iq, Al-Luqaya, Al-Jadha, Al-Thunaya, Al-Hail, and Al-Zamool, while the Saudi Camel Federation has allocated 30.4 million riyals for the prizes of the 24 symbol races, which represent the most prominent competitions of the festival.
The first prize in the major symbol races for the categories of Al-Hail and Al-Zamool reaches 1.5 million riyals, while the second receives 800,000, the third 500,000, the fourth 300,000, and the fifth 150,000. In the symbol races for Al-Zamool in the general and open categories, the first place receives 1 million riyals, the second 600,000, and the third 300,000 riyals.
Additionally, 13.4 million riyals have been allocated for the general races, 3.3 million for production, 1.6 million for the open category, and 1.18 million for the marathon and Arabian races, while the prizes for the races for men and women amount to 620,000 riyals.
The festival, which launched its first edition in 2018, continues to enhance the presence and status of camel racing in Saudi heritage.
