New Absher services 2025: Artificial intelligence and a smart personal assistant

In a strategic move reinforcing Saudi Arabia's leadership in government digital transformation, the Ministry of Interior unveiled a suite of advanced AI-powered services during the "Absher 2025" conference held in Riyadh. The announcement was made by the Deputy Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs, Engineer Thamer bin Mohammed Al-Harbi, amidst a large gathering of experts and specialists in the technology and security sectors.
A qualitative leap in the journey of digital transformation
This announcement comes within the context of the Kingdom's rapid development as part of its Vision 2030 objectives, which prioritize digitalization and quality of life. The "Absher" platform is the backbone of e-services in the Kingdom, having evolved from a mere platform for routine services into a comprehensive smart system. The integration of agentic AI into the Ministry's services represents a qualitative leap aimed at transforming the interaction between beneficiaries and government services from a traditional model to a smart, proactive, and interactive one.
Key new services: Artificial intelligence at the service of the user
The conference, organized by the Ministry in strategic partnership with Tuwaiq Academy, showcased a number of high-quality initiatives, most notably:
- Absher Assistant: This is a revolutionary service that enables users to complete their transactions through simple commands, where proxy artificial intelligence takes over the execution of complex tasks on behalf of the user, saving time and effort.
- Comprehensive Field: An integrated field system that aims to digitally unify security and traffic work tools, thereby increasing the efficiency of security personnel in the field and enhancing public safety levels.
- Central Reporting Database: A unified system for analyzing emergency (911) report data using artificial intelligence algorithms, which helps in speeding up response and predicting risks before they worsen.
Smart solutions to support internal decision-making
The initiatives were not limited to public services, but also included developing the ministry's internal work environment through:
- Security Chat Service: A secure and encrypted communication platform for ministry staff to ensure confidentiality of information and speed of coordination.
- Talk to your data: A sophisticated interactive interface that allows leaders to directly inquire about operational data and obtain instant analytics to support highly accurate strategic decision-making.
Expected impact and strategic importance
This transformation carries significant implications at both the local and regional levels. Locally, these services will contribute to reducing crowding, enhancing the accuracy of security operations, and tangibly improving the experience of citizens and residents. Regionally and internationally, these steps solidify the Kingdom's position as a global model for implementing smart government, where technology is no longer merely a supporting tool but has become the primary driver of security and development.
It is worth noting that the Absher 2025 conference is witnessing great momentum, including more than 60 dialogue sessions and 80 workshops, in addition to the announcement of strategic agreements and global achievements, reflecting the Ministry of Interior’s continued commitment to innovation and anticipating the future.
