Historical context and development of the Absher platform

Since its launch as a simplified online portal, the Absher platform has revolutionized the way government services are delivered in the Kingdom. It has evolved dramatically into a comprehensive digital system, a vast umbrella encompassing hundreds of security and civil services. This historic development did not happen by chance; rather, it is the result of massive investments in technological infrastructure and cybersecurity, enabling Saudi Arabia to achieve leading global rankings in the United Nations' e-government development indicators and becoming a regional model to be emulated in the Middle East.

Analyzing the figures released for April, we find that the “Absher Individuals” platform accounted for the largest share, processing 13,973,584 transactions. The impact of the “Absher” platform extends beyond saving time and effort and reducing paper waste; it also enhances national security and improves quality of life. The unified digital identities issued by the Ministry of Interior play a pivotal role in this success, enabling users to securely and reliably access the services of the Ministry's various sectors through its platforms (Absher Individuals, Absher Business, and Absher Government). These identities also facilitate seamless access to various government and private entities through the National Unified Access Portal “Nafath,” ensuring the provision of integrated electronic services with the highest standards of privacy and security.
