After 7 years, America raises its flag again over its embassy in Venezuela

She added that she and her team raised the flag “exactly seven years after it was taken down” on March 14, 2019, two months after Caracas downgraded relations because of Washington’s refusal to recognize Maduro’s 2018 re-election.

Following Maduro's arrest, the United States eased the seven-year-old oil embargo on Venezuela and issued licenses allowing several multinational companies to operate in Venezuela under certain conditions.
