Al-Baha streets are decorated for Ramadan: lanterns, crescent moons, and comprehensive monitoring plans

As the holy month approaches, the streets and public squares of Al-Baha region have been adorned with a captivating Ramadan atmosphere. Illuminated crescent moons, traditional lanterns, and artistic displays reflecting the spirituality of Ramadan have transformed the area into a vibrant, luminous work of art, filling hearts with joy and creating an atmosphere of tranquility and reverence for residents and visitors alike, who eagerly await the sighting of the new moon.

A comprehensive plan to equip the area

In this context, the Mayor of Al-Baha Region, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Suwat, explained that the municipality has completed its comprehensive operational plan to welcome the Ramadan season. The plan included preparing the main squares, intersections, and vital locations in Al-Baha city and all its affiliated governorates. Emphasis was placed on installing modern lighting displays and sculptures inspired by Islamic heritage and local architecture to enhance the region's urban landscape and highlight its unique aesthetic character, where architecture blends seamlessly with the breathtaking natural beauty of the Sarawat Mountains.

Al-Suwat explained that field teams began their work early, focusing on maintaining streetlights, decorating main entrances, and preparing the courtyards surrounding major mosques to accommodate large numbers of worshippers, especially during Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers. Roads leading to these sites were also improved to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide a safe and convenient environment for pedestrians and drivers during peak hours.

Intensify health monitoring and consumer protection

The Baha Municipality's preparations were not limited to aesthetic aspects but also included a strict monitoring plan aimed at protecting public health. Dr. Al-Suwat noted the intensification of inspection and monitoring tours of food establishments, restaurants, commercial markets, and Ramadan sweet shops. These measures aim to ensure compliance with health requirements, safe storage, the quality of products, and the implementation of preventive measures, thus guaranteeing safe services for consumers throughout the holy month.

The cultural and social dimension of Ramadan decorations

Ramadan decorations in Saudi Arabia are an integral part of the cultural and social heritage, with lanterns and crescent moons expressing the popular joy at the arrival of the holy month. In the Al-Baha region, these decorations take on a special character due to the area's mountainous terrain and temperate climate, making nighttime outings to illuminated squares a cherished social custom for families. These preparations contribute to strengthening social bonds and reviving Ramadan traditions passed down through generations, reflecting the region's identity and renowned hospitality.

Promoting tourism and quality of life

These efforts come within the framework of the Baha Region Municipality’s keenness to improve the urban landscape and raise the quality of life, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. In addition to the spiritual impact, these preparations contribute to stimulating tourism and commercial activity in the region, as the distinctive Ramadan atmosphere attracts visitors from inside and outside the region, which positively impacts the local economy and enhances Baha’s position as a preferred tourist destination in all seasons.
