Gulf winter deals: Signing Munshi and Al-Issa, and renewing Al-Haidari's contract

In its ongoing efforts to strengthen its first football team during the current winter transfer window, Al-Khaleej FC officially announced two new signings: midfielder Bader Manshi (26 years old) from Al-Diriyah FC, and winger Hussein Al-Essa (25 years old) from Al-Wahda FC. Both players signed professional contracts extending for one and a half seasons, keeping them with the club until June 2027.
These carefully considered moves are a key part of the management's strategy to support the coaching staff, led by experienced Greek coach Giorgos Donis. These signings aim to address the shortage of players in certain positions, cope with the anticipated fixture congestion in the second half of the season, and compensate for any potential absences due to injuries or suspensions, thus giving the coach more tactical options on the bench.
A distinguished career and international Olympic experience
The two new players possess promising resumes that enhance their chances of success with the team. Bader Manshi brings valuable experience gained from his previous stints with Al-Kawkab and Damac, making him a strong addition to the midfield. Meanwhile, Hussein Al-Essa stands out as a player who has delivered impressive performances in the Saudi League, having enjoyed successful professional spells with Al-Adalah, Al-Batin, and Al-Wehda.
What enhances the value of these deals is the expected harmony between the players, as the duo previously represented the Saudi Olympic team (under 23 years old) and participated together in the 2022 Asian Cup, which is a positive indicator of their technical and physical readiness to contribute effectively and quickly to the Al-Khaleej club's playing system without needing a long time to adapt.
Securing the goalkeeping position and team stability
In parallel with strengthening the front lines, the Gulf management paid great attention to fortifying the back areas, as it succeeded two days ago in renewing the contract of the brilliant national goalkeeper Marwan Haidari until 2028. This move is considered a masterstroke by the management, especially in light of the tempting offers that the goalkeeper received during the last season, which reflects the club’s keenness to keep its basic pillars and experienced elements that give the team confidence and composure in crucial matches.
Al-Khaleej's position in the Roshan League and future ambitions
Al-Khaleej currently sits in eighth place in the Saudi Professional League standings with 25 points, a position that reflects a significant improvement in the team's performance compared to previous seasons. These signings are of paramount importance given the intense competition in the Saudi league this season, with clubs attracting international stars.
Through this winter activity, the club's management seeks to establish the team's foothold in the safe zone and move away completely from relegation calculations, and even aspire to improve the position and advance towards the positions that qualify for external participations or Arab championships in the future, benefiting from the technical and administrative stability that the club is currently experiencing.
