Al-Layth Ramadan Nights Market: Entertainment activities and support for productive families

In a joyful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere, the Al-Lith Governorate Municipality launched the fourth annual “Al-Lith Ramadan Nights” market, under the patronage and in the presence of the Governor of Al-Lith, Imran bin Hassan Al-Zahrani. This annual event reaffirms the governorate's status as a distinguished tourist and social destination during the holy month, blending authentic heritage with modern economic activity.
Enhancing quality of life and the local economy
These events are organized as part of ongoing efforts to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, specifically those related to the Quality of Life Program and empowering the non-profit sector. The opening ceremony also saw the launch of the Saudi “Basta Khair” 2026 initiative, a strategic step aimed at regulating street vendors and supporting productive families. This initiative seeks to transform simple commercial activity into a sustainable system that provides a safe and organized environment for showcasing local products, directly contributing to strengthening the local economy of the governorate, creating new job opportunities for young men and women, and fostering a culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
Huge preparations and a charming Ramadan atmosphere
The Mayor of Al-Lith, Engineer Abdullah Al-Zubaidi, explained that the municipality dedicated all its resources to preparing the market site, which spans a total area of approximately 20,000 square meters. The site was designed to reflect the authentic spirit of Ramadan, with traditional lanterns and twinkling lights adorning the squares and walkways, creating an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere that attracts visitors. Al-Zubaidi emphasized that the goal was not simply to establish a market, but to create an attractive social environment that fosters community interaction and aligns with the spirituality of the holy month, making the market a daily destination for residents, visitors, and tourists from outside the province.
Various cultural and entertainment events
The “Layth Nights” festival is not limited to commercial activities; it also features a wide range of cultural and entertainment offerings. The schedule of events includes a variety of sporting and social activities, as well as theatrical performances such as the “Ramadan Riddles Theater,” which attracts families. Educational and entertaining programs have also been designed for children to develop their skills in an enjoyable way, providing a comprehensive experience that caters to all segments of society.
Effective community partnerships
This season is distinguished by the activation of strategic partnerships with the third sector, with the market featuring more than 40 booths dedicated to productive families and charitable organizations. Among the most prominent community initiatives accompanying the events are the “Empowerment and Giving” initiative in cooperation with the Orphans Association, and the “Beginning of Goodness Project” with the Al-Birr Charitable Society. These partnerships reflect the commitment of governmental and municipal entities to social responsibility and highlight the positive image of social solidarity in Al-Lith, while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and public safety for the products on display.
