Al-Maghlouth honors graduates of historical media at the Saudi Media Academy

In a move aimed at strengthening national identity and connecting the present with the rich past, the Assistant Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Media Academy, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth, honored today a select group of participants in the "Historical Media Training Programs" track held in Diriyah Governorate in the Riyadh region. This recognition comes as a culmination of the Academy's efforts in qualifying media practitioners and developing their professional competencies, ensuring the delivery of sound media content based on documented historical facts.

The training program, a cornerstone of the Academy's regional track, included two specialized workshops titled "Utilizing Content in Historical Narrative" and "History Worth Telling." These workshops aimed to equip media professionals with modern storytelling tools to enhance the presence of national history across various media platforms and present it professionally, keeping pace with the rapid evolution of digital and visual content creation.

Symbolism of place and significance of time

The choice of Diriyah to host this training program was not accidental; it carries profound significance. Diriyah represents the jewel of the Kingdom and the cradle of the first Saudi state, and today it is a major workshop within the global heritage projects. Training media professionals in this historical site provides them with direct inspiration from the place's essence, which positively impacts the quality of their media output and their ability to convey the true image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's rich cultural heritage.

Keeping pace with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This media initiative aligns directly with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on strengthening national identity and showcasing Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage to the world. The media is a strategic partner in conveying this image, hence the importance of training qualified personnel capable of crafting a highly professional media narrative of historical events, free from personal interpretations or misinformation, thus contributing to the preservation of national memory.

Strategic partnership to document the narrative

In a related context, Dr. Al-Maghlouth commended the effective and ongoing partnership between the media sector and the King Abdulaziz Foundation. This partnership serves as a safeguard for ensuring the accuracy of historical information, as the Foundation is considered the trusted reference for the Kingdom's history, geography, and heritage. This collaboration contributes to enriching media content with authentic national sources, thus enhancing the value of Saudi media output both locally and internationally.

The program saw the participation of over 60 trainees from various government and private sectors. The training focused on developing skills in analyzing media narratives and utilizing national sources in storytelling. At the program's conclusion, participants received certificates accredited by the Saudi Media Academy, with emphasis placed on the importance of continuing such high-quality programs that reflect the interest of Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari in national history and its preservation.
