The truth about Al-Nassr's negotiations with Pellegrini... Romano reveals the details

Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in global transfer market news, has settled the controversy surrounding the truth of Al-Nassr Saudi Club’s negotiations with Lorenzo Pellegrini, captain and star midfielder of AS Roma, to sign him during the current winter transfer window.

In the past few hours, Italian and Saudi media outlets have reported that Al-Nassr is keen to sign the Italian international, indicating that the Saudi club is preparing a lucrative offer including an annual salary of up to €15 million to persuade the player to move to the Saudi Professional League. This news coincided with Al-Nassr's successful acquisition of Iraqi talent Haider Abdulkarim from Al-Zawraa, further fueling speculation about the club's intention to make other major signings.

Romano denies the existence of negotiations

In a decisive response to these speculations, Fabrizio Romano denied any contact between the two parties via his official X account (formerly Twitter). The transfer expert wrote: "There are no talks or negotiations underway between Al-Nassr and Lorenzo Pellegrini or AS Roma, despite recent rumors linking the player to the Saudi club.".

This denial closes the door - at least temporarily - on the possibility of seeing the Wolves' captain in Al-Nasr's jersey in the current transfer window, despite the active policy followed by Saudi clubs in attracting top-tier stars from the top five European leagues.

An uncertain future for the leader of Rome

Despite denials of negotiations with Al-Nassr, Pellegrini's future with the Italian capital club remains uncertain. The attacking midfielder's contract with Roma expires at the end of the current season, meaning he will enter the free agency period, allowing him to negotiate and sign with any other club without Roma's permission.

As of now, no official agreement has been reached regarding the renewal of the contract, which opens the door to ongoing speculation about his next destination, whether it be within Europe or a move to the Saudi League, which has become an attractive destination for international stars.

Pellegrini's figures and market value

Pellegrini is a key player for Roma, having made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist. The 27-year-old's market value is estimated at around nine million euros, according to the sports statistics website Transfermarkt.

Al-Nasr's management, led by CEO Guido Fienga (who previously worked at Roma), is seeking to strengthen the team's ranks with distinguished players to compete strongly for all local and Asian titles, but the option of Pellegrini seems unlikely at the moment based on confirmations from reliable sources.
