The Governor of Al-Baha forms a committee to host stranded Gulf nationals in accordance with directives

In an immediate and urgent response reflecting the wise leadership's concern for the comfort and safety of our brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region, issued directives to form an urgent committee to follow up on the situation of those stranded in the region. This swift action comes in implementation of the generous royal decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – ordering the hosting of all GCC citizens stranded in the Kingdom's airports.
His Royal Highness the Prince of Al-Baha Region emphasized the necessity for the committee to commence its work immediately, under his direct supervision and that of his deputy, to ensure the provision of all means of comfort and care for the Gulf nationals. The committee's tasks include coordinating efforts among various governmental and service agencies in the region to facilitate the necessary procedures for hosting and honoring them, addressing their needs in a manner befitting the Kingdom's stature and its renowned hospitality, and securing all their living and health requirements until suitable conditions are in place for their safe return to their countries.
The dimensions of the decision and its human and political implications
These royal directives, and the swift executive action taken in the Baha region, reaffirm the unwavering principles of Saudi policy towards neighboring countries, which views Gulf citizens as an integral part of the Saudi social fabric. This step is not merely an administrative measure to facilitate travel, but a profound political and social message reflecting the concept of "one body" that binds the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and confirming that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a safe haven and refuge for its brothers in all circumstances and crises.
General context and fraternal relations
Historically, the Kingdom has always been at the forefront of initiatives that strengthen Gulf unity. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' directive to host those stranded in airports and provide them with comprehensive care reflects the leading and pivotal role Saudi Arabia plays in its regional environment. This decision embodies profound humanitarian values, as Gulf citizens are treated with the same rights and care as Saudi citizens, further strengthening the bonds of affection and kinship among the peoples of the region.
At the local level, the role of the regional emirates, including the Baha region, is prominent in translating these high-level directives into tangible reality by harnessing all available logistical and human resources. This initiative is expected to have a broad and positive impact at both the popular and official levels in the Gulf states, reinforcing the Kingdom's image as a nation that champions peace and humanity, and is deeply committed to the dignity and safety of Gulf citizens wherever they may be within its borders.
