Strengthening joint international action

In this context, His Excellency commended the pioneering and pivotal role of the State of Kuwait during its presidency of the organization, praising the significant initiatives launched. These initiatives included tangible efforts to combat disinformation, facilitate the flow of reliable data across borders, and launch a framework for responsible artificial intelligence—crucial steps to enhance the reliability of the digital environment globally.
A massive economic and human force
The Minister highlighted the organization's growing influence, using figures that reflect its economic and strategic weight. Member states represent approximately 10% of the world's population and contribute around $3.6 trillion to the global economy. In the area of digital talent development , the speech highlighted the human capital possessed by the OECD member states, which includes more than two million specialists in technical fields. This investment in talent has yielded a fertile entrepreneurial environment, contributing in recent years to the emergence of 16 billion-dollar companies (unicorns) and successful business models that compete globally.
The Kingdom's achievements and vision for the future
On the national level, Engineer Al-Swaha addressed the significant strides made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the digital economy and innovation sector. He proudly highlighted scientific and research achievements, most notably the first Nobel Prize awarded to a researcher from the region for developing AI-based solutions in chemistry, as well as the historic achievement of the first Arab Muslim woman participating in a scientific mission to the International Space Station to conduct advanced medical research, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to women's empowerment and leadership in advanced sciences.
