National School Accreditation: New agreements include 71 schools in the Kingdom

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Saudi Arabia, the Education and Training Evaluation Commission , represented by the National Center for School Evaluation and Excellence (Tamayuz), signed a wide range of agreements to implement national school accreditation . These agreements included 13 major educational companies and 71 private and international schools, reflecting a growing commitment to improving the efficiency of the education system.
Development context and the Kingdom's Vision 2030
These initiatives are an integral part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , specifically within the Human Capital Development Program, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global competitor in education. The focus is no longer solely on the quantitative expansion of schools, but has shifted radically towards improving the quality of educational outcomes. School accreditation is the primary tool to ensure that educational institutions not only deliver curricula but also provide a comprehensive educational environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
Since its establishment, the Authority has been working to build a strong quality assurance system, where obtaining national accreditation is considered a certificate of competence that confirms the school’s commitment to standard criteria in school leadership, teaching and learning, learning outcomes, and the school environment.
Scope of agreements and geographical distribution
The authority revealed that the current phase of agreements will cover school accreditation services for more than 11,348 students , thus expanding access to high-quality education. These agreements are distinguished by their geographical scope, extending beyond major cities to encompass a wide range of regions across the Kingdom, including:
- Riyadh, Mecca, and Medina.
- The Eastern Province and Hafr Al-Batin.
- The regions of Qassim, Hail, Jazan and Taif.
The list of schools that entered the accreditation circle included prominent names such as Al-Jeel Schools, Al-Abnaa Al-Najiaa, Al-Fatah Al-Ahliya, Al-Sumou, Al-Abrar Al-Haditha, King Abdul Aziz Model School, and other institutions that seek to enhance their competitive position.
The importance of accreditation for parents and students
Dr. Ahmed Al-Jubaili, Executive Director of the Center of Excellence, emphasized that school accreditation goes beyond being a mere regulatory procedure; it serves as a precise guiding compass for parents . Given the multitude of educational options available, parents seek a reliable standard that assures them the school they choose for their children adheres to the best international and national practices.
Accreditation contributes to creating a positive competitive environment between private and international schools, as the pursuit of accreditation and its renewal drives them to continuously develop educational staff, modernize infrastructure, and pay attention to students’ academic achievement, which ultimately benefits the student who is the focus of the educational process.
