Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Education distributes 68 million books and launches the "My Books" platform

In a massive logistical undertaking that underscores the readiness of the Saudi Arabian education system, the Ministry of Education announced the successful delivery of over 68 million textbooks to students across all regions and governorates. This operation is part of the Ministry's extensive preparations to ensure a strong and stable start to the new academic year, aiming to provide all necessary educational resources for students from the very first day of school.
Comprehensive coverage for more than 6.4 million students
The ministry explained in its statement that the distribution process encompassed a wide range of beneficiaries, reaching over 6.4 million students across all levels of public education. These figures reflect the scale of the efforts undertaken to ensure access to knowledge in every home and school, demonstrating the state's commitment to supporting the education sector as the cornerstone of human development.
An advanced distribution mechanism that reaches homes
The ministry's efforts were not limited to traditional distribution, but rather it adopted flexible mechanisms to ensure that the supplies reached those entitled to them, as the distribution processes included:
- Delivering books to more than 37,000 schools spread across the geographical area of the Kingdom.
- Textbooks were delivered directly to the homes of more than 30,000 students, in an initiative aimed at removing obstacles for students with special circumstances or in areas that require it.
“My Books” platform: A qualitative leap in supply chain management
In line with the Kingdom's digital transformation under Vision 2030, the Ministry announced the launch of the "My Books" platform. This platform is an innovative technological solution aimed at:
- Facilitating the management of textbook inventory.
- Improving the efficiency of distribution operations and real-time monitoring.
- Supporting teachers and students to ensure the uninterrupted availability of courses.
This step reflects the ministry’s direction towards automating logistical processes to reduce waste and increase operational efficiency, thus ensuring the sustainability of educational resources.
The importance of early preparation and its impact on the educational process
The timely availability of textbooks is a crucial factor in ensuring the stability of the educational process. This achievement enhances the stimulating learning environment, allowing students and teachers to begin the curriculum immediately without delay. These efforts also underscore the high priority the wise leadership places on the education sector, dedicating all available material, human, and technological resources to serve the nation's sons and daughters, enabling them to compete globally and contribute effectively to their country's progress.
