The 76th Saudi plane carrying aid to Gaza has arrived as part of the air bridge

The 76th Saudi relief plane, operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, arrived at El Arish International Airport in Egypt, en route to deliver its cargo to those affected in the Gaza Strip. This aid comes as part of the Saudi popular campaign to support the Palestinian people in Gaza, and in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister.

Details of humanitarian aid

The plane is carrying tons of various relief supplies, including food, medical supplies, and essential shelter materials. This shipment comes to meet the urgent and critical needs of the Gaza Strip's residents, who are facing dire humanitarian conditions and a severe shortage of basic necessities due to the ongoing blockade and military operations.

The ongoing Saudi air bridge

This flight is not an isolated event, but rather part of a long and ongoing Saudi air bridge established by the Kingdom since the beginning of the crisis. This air bridge reflects Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to standing with the Palestinian people, as the Kingdom has dedicated all its logistical and humanitarian resources to ensure the continuous flow of aid, whether via the air bridge to El Arish Airport or through sea bridges and land convoys.

Historical context and the Saudi role

This support is an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's historical role in supporting the Palestinian cause on all political, economic, and humanitarian levels. For decades, the Kingdom has been at the forefront of countries supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, and the Palestinian cause remains its top priority. This extensive humanitarian support underscores the Saudi leadership's commitment to alleviating the suffering of defenseless civilians and providing them with the means for a dignified life in the most dire circumstances.

Regional coordination and the importance of the event

The aid delivery process is being carried out in close coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent and Egyptian authorities to facilitate the entry of aid through border crossings. This aid is of regional and international importance as it helps bridge the significant gap in food and medical supply chains within Gaza, thus averting the risks of famine and the spread of epidemics, and underscores the Kingdom's pivotal role as a leading nation in global humanitarian work.
