The 78th Saudi relief plane arrives to support Gaza with urgent aid
As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support its Palestinian brothers and sisters, the 78th Saudi relief plane, operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, arrived today at El Arish International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt. This latest flight is part of the continuous Saudi air bridge, which is being implemented through high-level coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Defense and the Kingdom's embassy in Cairo, to ensure that aid reaches those affected as quickly as possible.
The plane is carrying massive shipments, including complete food baskets and shelter kits, which will be transported overland into the Gaza Strip. This aid comes in response to the urgent and critical needs of the Palestinian people, who are facing extremely difficult humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing events. The Strip is suffering from a severe shortage of basic necessities, food, and shelter, requiring immediate and sustained relief intervention.
The dispatch of this aircraft comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister, who, since the beginning of the crisis, have directed the launch of a popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the establishment of an air and sea bridge to provide all forms of humanitarian support. This directive reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's historical and unwavering stance in standing with the Palestinian cause and supporting the resilience of the Palestinian people in all circumstances and crises.
This aid is of paramount strategic and humanitarian importance at this time, as it helps alleviate the daily suffering of thousands of displaced and affected families. The Saudi role extends beyond simply sending aircraft; it includes meticulous logistical coordination with Egyptian authorities and the Palestinian Red Crescent to ensure the aid crosses border crossings and reaches those in need in the most affected areas of the Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that the Saudi air bridge is one of the largest relief operations directed to the Gaza Strip, as the aid provided varied between medical, food, and shelter materials, and ambulances, which embodies the Kingdom’s leading role in international humanitarian work, its moral and Arab commitment towards the brothers in Palestine, and its tireless efforts to provide them with the means for a decent life in light of the current challenges.
