
Filipino twins Olivia and Gianna arrive in Riyadh for their separation surgery
The conjoined twins from the Philippines, Olivia and Gianna, arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with their parents, having traveled from the Philippines. This was in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister – may God protect them. Upon their arrival, the twins were transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital at the Ministry of National Guard, where the medical team will begin conducting thorough examinations to assess their condition and determine the feasibility of surgical separation.
In a statement, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and Head of the Medical and Surgical Team, affirmed that this generous initiative is an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's extensive humanitarian efforts. He explained that these initiatives embody the Kingdom's deeply rooted humanitarian values, which transcend geographical boundaries to reach those in need across the globe, without discrimination based on race or color.

The Saudi Program for Separating Conjoined Twins is a landmark in the global medical field, boasting a distinguished record of achievements spanning more than three decades. Since its inception in 1990, the Kingdom has overseen the review and evaluation of over 130 cases of conjoined twins from more than 25 countries worldwide, performing dozens of successful separation surgeries. This has established the Kingdom as a leading global destination for these complex and rare procedures. The arrival of the twins, Olivia and Gianna, reflects the Kingdom's continued commitment to this pioneering approach, harnessing its medical capabilities to serve humanity.
