The first group of Palestinian pilgrims arrived safely in Mecca
A warm welcome with roses for the guests of God
In a scene reflecting the highest ideals of Islamic brotherhood and hospitality, the first group of Palestinian pilgrims, numbering approximately 1,200, arrived in Mecca to perform Hajj this year. The pilgrims received an exceptional and warm welcome from the Tawafa pilgrims of Arab countries (Ashraqat), represented by Rahlat wa Manafi’, through field service centers 201 and 202. The reception included the offering of blessed Zamzam water, dates, authentic Saudi coffee, fruits, flowers, and souvenirs, bringing joy and happiness to the pilgrims after their long journey.
Historical context and ongoing Saudi efforts
Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given special attention to facilitating the Hajj pilgrimage for Palestinian pilgrims. These efforts are part of the ongoing support provided by the Saudi leadership to the Palestinian cause on all levels. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah works annually to overcome all geographical and logistical obstacles that Palestinian pilgrims may face, including allocating special hosting programs, such as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah, which typically includes the families of martyrs and the wounded, reflecting the deep historical and religious ties between the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, the Palestinian Deputy Minister of Religious Endowments and Affairs and Head of the Hajj and Umrah Committee, Issam Abdel Halim, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the tremendous efforts exerted by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He affirmed that facilitating the arrival of Palestinian pilgrims is made possible thanks to the high level of coordination with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and all entities working during the Hajj season. During his visit to the headquarters of the organizing body, he stated, “All resources have been mobilized in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the vision of his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them both – to serve pilgrims in general and Palestinian pilgrims in particular.” He added, “We, as Palestinian pilgrims, have witnessed the great welcome and warm reception from the generous Saudi people, which demonstrates the high level of cooperation and coordination for the comfort of the guests of God.”.
