The center explained in its report that the weather conditions include the formation of thunderstorms accompanied by strong, high-speed winds, leading to dust storms and near-zero visibility on highways and in open areas.
According to the meteorological statement, this weather system is not limited to rain; it also includes hail, flash floods in valleys and ravines, and strong thunderstorms. The center identified the areas directly affected as the city of Abha, and the governorates of Khamis Mushait, Ahad Rafidah, Al-Namas, Balqarn, and Tanomah, in addition to their surrounding areas, confirming that this weather system will continue – God willing – until 8:00 PM this evening.
Civil Defense warnings and safety procedures
In a related context, and coinciding with weather alerts, the General Directorate of Civil Defense urged citizens and residents in the region to exercise caution.
