The Crown Prince receives a message from the Sultan of Oman to strengthen bilateral relations

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - received a written message from his brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, relating to the strong fraternal bilateral relations that bind the two brotherly countries, and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields in a way that serves common interests.
The message was received by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, during his meeting today at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh with the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Najib bin Hilal bin Saud Al-Busaidi. During the meeting, they reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations and ways to further enhance them, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
The depth of historical relations and the Joint Coordination Council
This message comes within the framework of ongoing communication and continuous consultation between the leaderships of the two countries, reflecting the depth of the historical, geographical, and social ties that bind the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. Relations between Riyadh and Muscat have witnessed a major qualitative leap in recent years, culminating in the establishment of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council, which aims to develop a shared vision for deepening and sustaining relations and elevating them to a level of integration in the political, security, and military fields, as well as in the areas of economics and human development.
Integration of economic visions and strategic projects
On the economic front, relations are witnessing unprecedented momentum, driven by the alignment of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Oman’s Vision 2040, as both countries seek to diversify their sources of income and enhance bilateral investments. The opening of the direct land route between the two countries across the Empty Quarter is considered one of the most important strategic achievements, facilitating trade and transportation, leading to a significant increase in trade volume and investment flows, as well as boosting tourism between the two nations.
The importance of coordination in light of regional challenges
These messages and communications are of paramount importance given the current circumstances in the region, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman play a pivotal role in strengthening the Gulf Cooperation Council and maintaining regional security and stability. This ongoing communication underscores the commitment of both leaderships to unifying their positions on critical issues and working together to address political and economic challenges, thereby ensuring the prosperity and well-being of the region's peoples.
