Riyadh launches 2026 World Cup trophy tour with Del Piero in attendance

This event marks a significant milestone in the countdown to the biggest football event in history.
The most coveted trophy in the world of football received a hero's welcome upon its arrival on a private plane at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Among those greeting it were Saudi football legends Majed Abdullah and Fouad Anwar, who represent a rich history of Saudi football on the international stage. In a majestic ceremony, Alessandro Del Piero, the Italian legend who won the 2006 World Cup and a representative of FIFA, unveiled the trophy, officially launching its marathon journey around the world.

The tour is scheduled to last 150 days, during which the trophy will travel thousands of miles, visiting 30 countries and making 75 different stops around the world.
