The Foreign Minister discusses developments in Gaza with the Palestinian Prime Minister in Davos

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today with the Palestinian Prime Minister, Dr. Muhammad Mustafa, on the sidelines of the Kingdom’s delegation’s participation in the 2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, held in Davos, Switzerland.

During the meeting, an extensive session of talks was held, focusing primarily on the rapidly evolving situation in the Gaza Strip. Both sides reviewed the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip and the efforts being made to address it. His Highness the Foreign Minister reaffirmed the Kingdom's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the need for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to halt military operations and protect unarmed civilians.

Saudi diplomatic efforts to support Palestine

This meeting comes as an extension of the intensive diplomatic efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on both the regional and international stages, aimed at garnering global support for legitimate Palestinian rights. Saudi diplomacy is working through various forums, including the World Economic Forum, to advance a serious political process leading to a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Coordinating Arab positions in international forums

The two sides discussed the importance of unifying visions and coordinating Arab and Islamic positions to confront current challenges, and working to establish effective mechanisms to ensure the urgent and sustained flow of relief and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen Palestinian state institutions and support the resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of the economic and political challenges imposed by the current circumstances.

Bilateral relations and joint cooperation

In addition to political and security matters, the meeting reviewed the strong bilateral relations that bind the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and discussed aspects of joint cooperation in various developmental and economic fields.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Swiss Confederation, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, the Director General of the Office of His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Walid Al-Smaeel, and the Advisor to His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al-Yahya, in addition to a number of officials from the Palestinian side.
