Deputy Governor of Mecca: Serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors is a top priority for the Kingdom

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, since its founding by the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman - may God have mercy on him - up to the prosperous era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - has placed the service of the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, including pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors, at the top of its priorities, harnessing all human, material, and technical capabilities for this purpose.
His Highness explained that this growing interest does not stop at the limits of the giant construction projects and historical expansions witnessed by the holy sites, but goes beyond that to include the most minute operational and service details that directly affect the journey of the pilgrim and the Umrah performer, which ensures that they perform their rituals and worship in an atmosphere full of security, tranquility and peace, which reflects the Kingdom’s firm commitment to its religious and historical duty towards Muslims in all parts of the world.
Royal will and sense of responsibility
The Deputy Governor of Makkah pointed out that the wise leadership – may God support them – continues this righteous approach, stemming from its awareness of the immense responsibility entrusted to it and its pride in the honor of serving this blessed land. This attention is an extension of a long history of giving, as the Two Holy Mosques have witnessed, over the past decades, the largest expansions in Islamic history, including the development of infrastructure, increasing the capacity of the circumambulation area and the area between Safa and Marwa, and establishing advanced transportation networks, all aimed at facilitating access to the holy sites.
Field monitoring and continuous development
His Highness's remarks came during his chairmanship of an important meeting attended by the CEO of the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Engineer Ghazi bin Dhafer Al-Shahrani. During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on a comprehensive presentation of the most prominent operational projects and programs, as well as the high-quality services provided to pilgrims. The meeting also reviewed the ongoing development initiatives within the Two Holy Mosques care system, which keep pace with the steady increase in the number of visitors, particularly in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals, which aim to host millions of Umrah and Hajj pilgrims annually.
Keeping pace with Vision 2030
The meeting addressed a review of a package of the Authority’s initiatives aimed at raising performance efficiency and improving services, which are in line with the “Serving the Guests of God” program, one of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programs. These initiatives focus on employing artificial intelligence and modern technologies in crowd management, and improving the visitor experience from their arrival in the Kingdom until their departure, to ensure the provision of an accessible and safe spiritual experience befitting the status of the Islamic holy sites.
