The Saudi Media Academy concluded today its specialized training program entitled "Sports Technical Analysis," which was organized in strategic partnership and fruitful cooperation with the Saudi Sports Media Federation. This conclusion marked the culmination of two days of intensive training sessions, with the active participation of more than 40 trainees, both male and female, from among media professionals and those interested in the field.
A growing sporting context and an ambitious vision
The organization of this program comes at a strategic time, coinciding with the unprecedented sporting movement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great importance on the sports sector. With the Saudi League attracting the world's top stars, and the Kingdom preparing to host major global events such as the 2027 AFC Asian Cup and its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, the urgent need has arisen to keep pace with this development on the ground with a parallel media development that relies on professionalism and accurate analysis rather than general impressions.
Program objectives and themes
The program's primary objective was to refine participants' skills in technical analysis. The curriculum focused on enhancing their ability to read matches in depth and understand different tactical and analytical schools of thought. The program also placed particular emphasis on utilizing data and modern technological tools to produce professional analytical content. The training included strategies for delivering this content across various modern and traditional media platforms, including television channels, podcasts, and social media platforms, which have become a primary source of sports information.
Enhancing professionalism in sports media
The program included a range of practical applications and interactive discussions that directly contributed to enhancing the professional competence of the participants, qualifying them to practice the role of sports analyst according to systematic principles and international media standards. The importance of these outcomes lies in bridging the gap between amateur and professional sports, as the presence of academically qualified analysts contributes to raising the level of sports audience appreciation and providing constructive criticism that serves the development of the game.
Supporting media leaders
The closing ceremony of the program was attended by the Assistant Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Media Academy, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth. In his closing remarks, he emphasized that such high-quality programs are a fundamental pillar in empowering Saudi media professionals. Al-Maghlouth pointed out that enhancing professionalism in sports analysis contributes to building a promising generation capable of producing content that meets the aspirations of the current era and strengthens the competitiveness of Saudi sports media at both the regional and international levels.
It is worth mentioning that this program is part of a series of initiatives aimed at developing national competencies and raising the quality of media content, so that Saudi media will be a mirror reflecting the great development that sports are experiencing in the Kingdom.
