Saudi badminton breaks into the global scene: a historic ranking for 2025

In a move reflecting the major sporting boom in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi national badminton team has achieved an unprecedented global milestone, establishing a strong presence on the international stage. The Badminton World Federation announced that Saudi players Amer Mohammed and Nabeha Sharaf have entered the top 20 in the world in mixed doubles for 2025, a clear indication of the rapid development of the sport in the Kingdom.
The achievement was not limited to doubles competitions, but extended to singles competitions, as the rising player Amer Mohammed managed to secure his place among the top 35 players in the world in the youth singles competitions for 2025. This advanced ranking reflects the high technical abilities and exceptional talent that Saudi players possess, and confirms the success of the plans set to develop the age groups that are the main source of the national teams.

For her part, the President of the Saudi Badminton Federation, Mai Obaid Al-Rasheed, expressed her pride in this national achievement. Al-Rasheed emphasized that this accomplishment is the result of the support of the sports leadership and the integrated institutional work within the federation, noting that reaching these international rankings reflects the significant effort invested in developing and refining national talent.
Al-Rashid added that the federation is determined to continue investing in its players, both male and female, by intensifying training camps and international participation, and by raising the quality of its technical programs.
