His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Ayman Safadi, arrived today in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on an official visit aimed at strengthening the bonds of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
Reception ceremony at King Khalid International Airport
At the forefront of those receiving the Jordanian guest upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, along with a number of officials, where the usual reception ceremony took place, reflecting the depth of the diplomatic and fraternal ties that unite the two kingdoms.
The depth of Saudi-Jordanian relations
This visit comes within the framework of the deep-rooted and historic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, characterized by a profound strategic nature based on shared destiny and common interests. Relations between Riyadh and Amman are distinguished by constant and continuous coordination at the highest levels, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and their brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.
These reciprocal visits between senior officials of the two countries constitute a fundamental pillar for supporting joint Arab action, as Saudi Arabia and Jordan are considered a safety valve for the stability of the region, given their political weight and their identical positions towards many regional and international issues.
The importance of political and security coordination
The timing of this visit is particularly significant given the current circumstances in the Middle East, necessitating intensified political consultation and coordination between the two countries. Discussions between the two sides typically focus on vital issues including support for the Palestinian cause, combating terrorism, strengthening regional security, and addressing the economic and political challenges facing the Arab region.
Through these periodic meetings, the two sides seek to formulate unified positions that serve the interests of the Arab and Islamic peoples, and drive development and stability, as well as enhance economic and investment partnerships in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Jordanian economic modernization vision.
Prospects for future cooperation
The visit is expected to include bilateral talks addressing ways to develop relations in various fields, particularly political and economic, in a way that benefits the two brotherly peoples and confirms the strength of the Saudi-Jordanian alliance as a model to be emulated in inter-Arab relations.
