Eid al-Fitr
Tour guide Sami Al-Harthi confirmed that the Eid al-Fitr celebration is an occasion that children especially look forward to, because of the atmosphere of joy and fun it brings, and its connection to distributing Eid gifts and celebrating the arrival of Eid in a warm family atmosphere, explaining that Eid al-Fitr celebrations vary from one region to another.
The dishes served on Eid morning vary according to local customs and food traditions of each region, with some regions preparing rice and meat dishes and popular foods that have been passed down through generations.
traditional sweets
In other regions, traditional sweets, pastries, Saudi coffee, dates, honey, ghee, ma'jouna (a type of porridge), areeka (a type of porridge), fatta (a dish of bread soaked in broth), and mallah (a type of bread) stand out as essential elements of the Eid feast.
Al-Harthi noted that these social customs reflect the presence of Eid in the cultural memory of the community, reviving the spirit of collective joy that unites people on Eid morning. The spirit of Eid remains one of the most prominent expressions of the occasion's essence and the meanings of camaraderie and happiness it holds for members of the community.
