Brand growth of 127% in the Holy Sites within the framework of Vision 2030
Record growth reflects confidence in the investment environment
Kadana Development and Investment Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, announced a remarkable achievement in attracting commercial investments for the recent Hajj season. The season witnessed a significant increase in the number of participating brands, with the total rising to 66 prestigious brands, marking a record growth rate of 127% compared to the previous season, which saw only 29 participating brands. This growth reflects the addition of 37 new brands participating for the first time, underscoring the growing confidence in the investment environment that the Kingdom provides to serve the pilgrims.
Within the framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030
This significant development comes within the framework of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts as part of its Vision 2030, which prioritizes enriching the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage experience. The Royal Commission and its executive arm, “Kadana,” are working to develop a comprehensive infrastructure and create an attractive environment for quality investments that contribute to enhancing the quality of services provided. The increased number of brands not only means a wider range of options for pilgrims but also represents a success in creating a vibrant and sustainable economic ecosystem around the Holy Sites, capable of meeting the needs of millions of visitors annually.
broad economic and social impact
The positive impact of this investment surge extends to multiple economic and social dimensions. By leasing over 410 retail spaces covering diverse activities including groceries, restaurants, cafes, banking and healthcare services, as well as charitable activities and barbershops, the local economy is being directly stimulated. This activity contributes to creating thousands of seasonal job opportunities, supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and enhancing competition among service providers, which is reflected positively in product quality and prices. Internationally, this success reinforces the Kingdom's position as a safe and reliable investment destination in the Hajj and Umrah sectors.
A promising future for services in the holy sites
Kadana continues its work in developing and equipping retail outlets and enhancing the operational readiness of its entire commercial services system. This rapid growth opens the door to further partnerships with local and international brands in the coming seasons and promises to provide a more integrated and comfortable experience for pilgrims. The diversification of services ensures that all the needs of pilgrims, regardless of their cultural background or financial means, are met, transforming their spiritual journey into a comprehensive experience that combines performing the rituals with ease and convenience while receiving world-class services.
