King Salman Center distributes aid in Aleppo and Afghanistan

As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to extend a helping hand to those affected around the world, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to implement its urgent relief programs, with the latest aid including the distribution of essential shelter materials to displaced families in the Syrian Arab Republic, in addition to supporting food security in Afghanistan.
Relief for displaced people in Aleppo
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed urgent shelter assistance to displaced families in Aleppo , Syria. This aid included 360 blankets and 180 complete shelter kits, benefiting 180 families living in exceptionally difficult circumstances. This humanitarian intervention is part of the Saudi aid project for the brotherly Syrian people, aimed at alleviating the suffering of families forced to leave their homes.
This aid is of paramount importance given the harsh climatic conditions in the region, where displaced people in camps and temporary shelters are suffering from a severe shortage of heating supplies. These shelter kits and blankets provide warmth and protection for children, women, and the elderly, enhancing their resilience in the face of environmental and living challenges. This support is a continuation of the Kingdom's longstanding role in standing by the Syrian people during their years-long ordeal.
Supporting food security in Afghanistan
In a related development, the center expanded its humanitarian operations to include the Asian region, distributing 570 food baskets in Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province in Afghanistan . These aid packages benefited 570 families, comprising 3,420 individuals, including the most vulnerable groups such as returning families, internally displaced persons, and orphans.
This distribution falls under the Food Security and Emergency Support Project in Afghanistan, which aims to address the food gap affecting large segments of the Afghan population. This initiative responds to the economic and humanitarian challenges facing Afghanistan, as the Kingdom, through its humanitarian arm, seeks to provide the basic necessities for a dignified life and contribute to the stability of affected families.
