King Salman Relief distributes winter clothing in Taiz as part of the Kanf project

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its ongoing humanitarian efforts in Yemen, distributing 541 vouchers for winter clothing in Al-Mawasit District, Taiz Governorate. This initiative is part of the 2026 Winter Clothing Distribution Project (Kanaf), which aims to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable families and displaced persons amidst difficult living conditions.

The center's distribution mechanism is characterized by its flexibility and respect for the dignity of beneficiaries. The vouchers allow recipient families the freedom to choose suitable winter clothing for themselves and their children from approved stores within the district. This distribution benefited 541 displaced persons and members of the host community, helping to keep them warm and protect them from the harsh winter conditions in the mountainous areas of Taiz.

This project is particularly important given the geographical nature of Taiz Governorate, characterized by its mountainous terrain and significantly low temperatures in winter, which exacerbates the suffering of displaced people who often lack adequate shelter and heating. The “Kanaf” project is an urgent response to these needs, ensuring the provision of clothing to protect children and the elderly from cold-related illnesses at a time when prices are soaring beyond the purchasing power of the average Yemeni citizen.

This initiative is part of a series of massive relief and development projects implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, across various Yemeni governorates. These interventions encompass multiple sectors, including food security, health, shelter, water, and sanitation, with the aim of improving the living conditions of the brotherly Yemeni people and supporting their stability in the face of the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

The continued flow of Saudi aid reflects the Kingdom’s firm commitment to standing by the Yemenis in their plight. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is one of the most prominent donors and actors in the Yemeni humanitarian scene, harnessing its capabilities to reach the most affected and needy areas, thus ensuring a decent life for the vulnerable and affected groups.
