King Salman Relief Center: Aid to Yemen and Chad and new agreements

Within the framework of the leading role that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays in humanitarian and relief work worldwide, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid its tireless efforts to extend a helping hand to those in need and those affected in various continents, thus confirming the Kingdom’s noble message of alleviating human suffering without discrimination.
Supporting food security in the African continent
As part of its efforts in Africa, the center intensified its activities in the Lake Chad , where it distributed 1,407 food baskets the day before yesterday, benefiting 8,442 individuals from the most vulnerable groups. This support is part of the 2026 in-kind assistance distribution project, aimed at strengthening food security in resource-scarce areas.
In a related context in West Africa, the center distributed 1,500 food baskets in the town of Komselga in the Republic of Burkina Faso , benefiting 1,500 families with 9,000 individuals, as part of the project to support food security for the most needy groups for the year 2026, which contributes to bridging the food gap for affected families.
Ongoing aid to Yemen and Lebanon
On the Arab level, the center continues its ongoing support for its brothers and sisters in Yemen , distributing 2,500 cartons of dates in the Tarim district of Hadramawt Governorate, benefiting 15,000 individuals from the most vulnerable families and people with disabilities. This aid is part of a comprehensive plan to secure the basic food needs of the brotherly Yemeni people.
In Lebanon , the center concluded its "Kanf Lebanon 4" project for 2025, which focused on providing winter clothing. During the project, 11,700 vouchers were distributed, enabling orphans, people with disabilities, and needy families across various Lebanese governorates to purchase winter clothes, thus alleviating their suffering from the harsh cold and difficult economic conditions.
Strategic partnerships to promote community and health work
Locally, on the sidelines of the launch ceremony for the 2026 relief operations and projects plans in Riyadh, the center signed a package of strategic memoranda of understanding with a number of national associations to enhance community and health services. The center was represented in the signing by the Assistant General Supervisor for Planning and Development, Dr. Aqeel bin Jumaan Al-Ghamdi.
The agreements included signing a memorandum with the “Iqraa” Educational Association to empower and rehabilitate people with disabilities through specialized programs, and a memorandum with the Charitable Association for the Care of Rheumatism Patients to provide medical and psychological care to patients and spread awareness.
Partnerships also extended to the social aspect by signing a memorandum with the Family Protection Association to combat domestic violence and preserve the rights of vulnerable groups, in addition to a memorandum with the “No Problem” Health Association to promote health volunteering and provide care to needy groups, reflecting the integration of the center’s roles between international relief work and local community development.
