Solving the problem of rejected payments in social security and steps to resume payments

As part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate procedures for beneficiaries and ensure that support reaches those who deserve it, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, represented by the Social Security platform, revealed the necessary steps to deal with cases of rejected or suspended financial payments, which often result from problems related to the bank account (IBAN).

Payment correction procedures

The platform explained via its official customer care account on the social networking site “X”, that the beneficiary who is facing a problem in receiving the payment due to problems with the IBAN, must follow a set of precise steps to ensure the resumption of disbursement, which are as follows:

  • Resume Payment: You must log in to the online platform and select the “Resume Payment” icon instead of submitting a new request.
  • Avoid deletion: The ministry strongly warned against deleting the bank account or withdrawing the application, as this would delay procedures and possibly temporarily cancel the entitlement.
  • IBAN verification: Make sure that the registered bank account number (IBAN) is linked to the beneficiary's identity, that the account is active and not frozen, and is able to receive money transfers.

The ministry indicated that if the problem persists after implementing all the previous steps and correcting the bank account status, the beneficiary has the right to file a “financial complaint” through the platform, supported by documents that prove the account is valid and there are no banking impediments, so that the case can be reviewed by the specialized team.

The importance of social security in the protection system

This clarification comes in the context of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness to strengthen the social protection system, as the developed social security system is one of the pillars of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The system aims to provide financial support and empowerment to the most needy groups in society, regardless of gender or social status, as long as they meet the eligibility conditions and specified criteria.

The system seeks not only to provide financial assistance, but also to transform beneficiaries from needy individuals into productive and financially independent individuals through training and employment programs, reflecting a strategic shift in the Kingdom’s social welfare policies.

Proof of residence is a prerequisite for eligibility

In a related context, the Social Security Program reiterated the required documents for proving independent housing, which is a crucial criterion in determining the amount of support and calculating income. The program confirmed that proof of housing is established through one of the following official documents:

  • Electronic lease agreement documented via the “Ejar” platform.
  • The property deed is in the name of the beneficiary.
  • A housing certificate issued by an accredited government agency (such as developmental or charitable housing).

These measures confirm the Ministry’s commitment to digital transformation and electronic linking with relevant entities to ensure data accuracy and the rapid delivery of support to those who actually deserve it.
